Portland is the City of Suspects

Portlander Katy King Sets Book Launch Sales Record

(October 18, 2003) Over two hundred guests braved a rainy night on Saturday to celebrate the October 11th launch of Katy King's new book City of Suspects at the downtown Borders store. Publisher Oak Tree Press called it a record breaking sales event.

Katy King, a first-time author, is busy planning other appearances. Her next stop is Las Vegas for Bouchercon 2003, the world-wide mystery conference, where she will take part in an author's panel. On November 4, 2003, she will be signing books at a “Champagne, chocolate and mystery” event at Broadway Books. The media is encouraged to attend.

City of Suspects features Portland private eye, Jane Lanier, a former journalist. The action starts when Lanier returns to her downtown Portland office late one night to find a case has fallen on her desk—literally. Federico DeOrca, an alleged mobster, killer, drug dealer, tax cheat and confirmed two timing bastard has been murdered. And there's a city's worth of suspects who would have been glad to pull the trigger.
